How To Bustle Your Gown

The idea of bustling a wedding gown is to transition it to function without a train. Brides will often do this after photos and before their grand entrance into the reception. This allows for easy access around the space and smooth dancing all night long!

The American bustle will have multiple hooks sewn into the gown that allows the train to be picked up and hooked to itself to create a dramatic, yet functional, look. This is a great bustle style for ball gowns! This can be done in 3 easy steps.

Step One: Locate The Bustle Hooks

Step Two: Locate The Corresponding Buttons To Attach To The Loops

Step Three: Hook Each Button To The Matching Loop

Opposite to the over-bustle American style, this style utilizes ribbons under the dress to create a fold in the train. Color or number coordinated ribbons are tied together. This gives you all of the princess vibes while favoring the natural waistline.

BOW STYLE

This style goes best with gowns that have a statement bow or sash on the back. Very similar to the American style, the train will bustle over the dress, connecting with ties under the bow or sash moment.

A couple of tips for bustling your wedding dress, ladies!- Designate a wedding day bustler. This is not easily done by the bride herself. Your wedding planner, maid of honor, or mother figure are great go-to people for this job! Add the addition of a bustle into the budget for your wedding gown. The seamstress will be your point person for this addition. Do you want to take another route altogether, brides? Consider changing into a little white dress for your reception like our beautiful bride Kelsey did!
