DATES TO AVOID
There are a lot of days in a year, so it may be easier to start with the ones you should avoid scheduling your wedding on! We suggest considering NOT having your wedding on days that hold popular sporting events such as Super Bowl, March Madness, and the World Series. In addition to large sporting events, you should also avoid unlucky days like Friday the 13th and holidays such as Easter and Hanukkah. Some families might have pre-existing traditions on particular holidays, so holding your wedding on one of those days may result in some guests not attending. Here are some other days we suggest avoiding:
Thanksgiving
Christmas
Leap Day
Tax Day
Special Birthdays
Mother’s Day
Father’s Day
September 11th
Halloween
Election Day
MEANINGFUL DATES
Now that we have gotten all of the days you should avoid out of the way, we can start narrowing down the date of your special day! You may want to consider a date that is meaningful to both you and your partner. That can mean the day you first met, the day you had your first kiss, or even the day one of you told the other “I love you” for the first time.
VENUE
Still having trouble figuring out what day you want to get married on? Consider factoring in your wedding venue. If you have already chosen your dream venue and you are conflicted between a few dates, ask which of those dates are available for your wedding day. Your venue may already be booked on some of those days so this will help you narrow down your choices!
Whatever date you decide to go with will be a day you and your husband will cherish forever! Use our tips and suggestions to help make choosing your wedding date just a little bit easier!
