Grace Loves Lace is an ethically produced wedding dress company based out of Australia. They currently have 9 showrooms in the United States, and they recently opened a new location in Phoenix! We got the opportunity to visit the downtown showroom and talked with Danielle, who told us everything you need to know about Grace Loves Lace!
Grace Loves Lace is revolutionizing the wedding dress industry. There are so many factors that make them unique! First off, these dresses are designed with modern silhouettes and do not have any structure, boning, or zippers. The gowns come handmade to your measurements to avoid excess alterations, and most of the gowns even come with trendy bustles! They are made with very stretchy inner lining, and they are so comfortably lightweight you would never be able to guess it was a wedding dress! The fabric clings in all the right places, making these dresses flattering on any bride. Another unique aspect of the dresses is that they are not number sizes. They run from an XXS to a 3XL.
The founder, Megan, originally started the business in 2010 when she was shopping for her own wedding dress- but couldn’t find something that didn’t sacrifice comfort for style. The Grace brand started as an ecommerce business, designed and executed by Meg. Even with the company growing at such a rapid rate, she is still the creative director and has a hand in designing every gown in the line! Her grandmother and great grandmother made wedding lingerie, so Meg was already familiar with the wedding industry and lace textiles. Another neat thing is that the business is mostly women-run. What a great way to support women-run businesses! All of the dresses are handmade, never mass produced, and made in-house. They not only have dresses, but they have a jewelry line, mini line, and so much more!
Grace Loves Lace is constantly coming out with new dresses, each one of them being equally as stunning as the last! When making the dresses, they use as much of the fabric as they can. Grace Loves Lace dresses come with a mask made out of the wedding dress material, and you can even get little flower girl dresses made with the same fabric! Something we learned about the lace from these dresses is that it is exclusive, and cannot always be re-ordered. If a dress is made with a lace that is of limited quantity, the dress will be discontinued when it runs out.
When asking Danielle about when to go wedding dress shopping, we got a shocking answer. Grace Loves Lace can make priority dresses for a wedding in 8 weeks, and has a ready to wear line for weddings in as little as 2 weeks! However, they recommended shopping as soon as possible to avoid extra costs and stresses. The standard production time runs 5 months before the wedding. Another thing that sets Grace apart is the way their ordering process works! For a standard made to order gown, the bride is given an online portal to adjust her measurements all the way up until 150 days before the wedding. At this point the gown measurements are locked in, production is completed, and the gown dispatches 8 weeks before the wedding to achieve the closest perfect fit possible!
Another perk of heading to a bridal showroom early in the wedding planning process is once you find the right dress for you it brings all the blissful bridal feels. For so many brides, knowing the style of the gown can help with the rest of the wedding planning process.
The experience in the Phoenix showroom was so dreamy! You walk in and you see a showroom. All of the dresses were hanging at the front, with a giant floral-lined mirror to look at them in. We were welcomed immediately and offered rose tea and water. They provided our team with amazing service, and we weren’t even brides! We felt so welcome at the Phoenix showroom, making the experience that much better.
Overall, we had such a lovely time being at the Phoenix showroom. Getting to learn about Grace and trying on wedding dresses made the day so fun! Our experience was captured by Kailey Beth Photo, who did such an incredible job!
