Determining your budget for your wedding day can be quite a big task. You want to make your dream day come to life, but this can get costly quick. There are so many different elements that start to add up and take over your budget. So, it is important to make a budget that works for you and your fiancé, which includes everything you want on your big day as well as all of the people you love. No need to fear though, I’m here to help you get your dream wedding and a practical budget!
WHO IS CONTRIBUTING?
The first step in figuring out your budget is to determine who will be contributing financially and how much. Is it just going to be you and your fiancé funding the wedding? If this is the case, the two of you need to sit down and figure out how much you will be able to set aside for the big day. Or, will other people, such as your parents or grandparents, be helping you pay for it? If so, talk to them and figure out if they are paying for the whole wedding and have a specific budget they want you to follow, or if they are only giving you a certain amount towards the total budget. Although having these conversations can be difficult, it is a very important step in figuring out all other aspects of your wedding day budget!
HOW MANY GUESTS?
The next step in determining your budget will be to determine your guest count. The number of people attending your big day will have a huge effect on the cost of your wedding, so make sure that you take this into consideration when you are determining your budget. There can be a big price difference between having 75 guests and having 200 guests, so make sure you put a lot of thought into whether or not having a large guest count is important to you. If you feel that the more the merrier, then just make sure you take that into consideration when choosing dinner options and other packages with vendors! Once you have your guest count figured out, you can move on to the fun part, picking vendors and details to tie together your dream day!
PICKING YOUR VENDORS
Planning your budget has everything to do with the vendors that you choose, which ones you want to spend more of your budget on, and how much each of those vendors will charge you. While talking to potential vendors, make sure that you get their price points for their different packages that you are considering, and take this into account when you are picking your vendors. Make sure you also talk to them about your guest count and get prices accurate for the amount of people you will have attending. Decide which aspects of the wedding are the most important to you and how much of your budget you would like to spend on those vendors.
