We couldn’t be more excited to introduce our lovely interns for the Spring Semester of 2023! The upcoming schedule is packed; the interns will complete the brand new Riding Tandem Academy course, plan a mock wedding, visit outstanding local vendors, and assist on wedding days. In addition to all of that, each intern has a unique role based on Marketing or Social Media. Keep on reading to meet our eight new team members and learn more about their roles.
MARKETING TEAM
Desiree Rosado: Des is our Photo Gallery Designer; she creates custom galleries depicting each couple’s wedding day story. She describes all the key events of the day and credits all the vendors that were involved in making it extraordinary. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Des ventured out west to study Business at Phoenix College, completing her degree in 2020. She now enjoys living with her two cats, King and Prince, journaling, and enjoying local parks and hikes. Des loves concerts and her favorite music genres are indie, alternative and chillwave. In the future, she is hoping to pursue a career in wedding planning.
Sydney Laird: As our Pinterest Extraordinaire, Sydney is in charge of creating new pins and engaging on the platform. After moving to Phoenix five years ago, she completed a degree in Marketing and Advertising at Grand Canyon University in 2021. Currently, Sydney is a freelance Brand Specialist but has always had an interest in exploring the wedding industry. In her free time, she loves practicing her photography skills, thrifting, traveling, and spending quality time with her besties.
Emma Vondal: Emma, our Email Marketing Specialist, creates the weekly newsletter (sign up here!) and keeps everyone up to date. The newsletter highlights Riding Tandem’s current events, news, and recent blogs or photo galleries. Emma came from Parker, Colorado, to attend Grand Canyon University where she is a freshman pursuing a major in Hospitality Management. On the weekends Emma loves reading, cooking, being active, and spending time with her dog, Milo.
Claire de Roover: Claire writes about all things wedding planning as our Blog Curator. The blog features planning advice, Riding Tandem’s favorite vendors, trend predictions, relationship tips, and much more. Claire is from Portland, Oregon, and, like many others, came to Phoenix to attend Grand Canyon University. She graduated in 2020 with a degree in Business Management. One day, she hopes to start a wedding planning business, but for now, Claire spends most of her free time knitting, hiking, or cooking with her husband, Jesse.
SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM
Emma Lawrence: Emma is our Instagram Story and Engagement Coordinator. She manages the Riding Tandem Instagram and keeps our followers informed of recent weddings, blogs, newsletters, and photo galleries, as well as sharing wedding tips and recommendations. Emma is a Phoenix native and attends Grand Canyon University pursuing a degree in Communication with an Emphasis on Interpersonal Communication and Human Relations. Emma is our resident Swiftie; she takes a lot of inspiration from Taylor Swift and adores everything about her. Although wedding planning is a recent interest, she is very excited about the upcoming semester.
TikTok & Reel Creators
Grace, Alex, and Brooke all share the job of gathering a variety of wedding content and creating TikToks and reels to showcase all the gorgeous events planned by Riding Tandem. Their content consists of wedding day highlights, trends, behind the scenes, and vendor spotlights.
Grace Harney: Grace is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, and came to Phoenix to pursue a degree in Business Management at Grand Canyon University. She loves GCU so much that during her sophomore year, she dyed her hair purple and her friends began calling her “Grapey”. She enjoys reading, listening to music, hosting girl’s nights, and cooking her favorite dishes in her free time.
Alex Diaz: Alex is an Arizona native from nearby Chandler. She will be graduating from Grand Canyon University this April, completing her degree in Marketing and Advertising. On the side, Alex runs her own small business as a photographer (@alex.mariephoto on Insta). In her free time, she enjoys cooking and trying out new restaurants.
Brooke Hancock: Brooke is also an Arizona native, from the city of Scottsdale. She is a freshman at Grand Canyon University pursuing a degree in Business Management. In her free time, she loves to read, watch movies, spend time with her besties, and drive off into the sunset. She especially loves baking cakes for all her friends and family to enjoy. Brooke is passionate about serving others and looks forward to exploring the hospitality and events industry after graduation.
