Color Trends for 2023 Weddings

Here at Riding Tandem, we love a good color scheme! Color ties everything together; from the bridal party attire to the place settings, a centralized color scheme will create a cohesive, thoughtful design. Your color choices are one of the easiest ways to infuse a pop of personality into your wedding day. Today, we’ll dive into three of the most popular palettes this year: dusty blue, black and white, and bold feminine brights.

DUSTY BLUE

Blue is always in the wedding trend rotation, and for good reason. This time around, it is dusty blue! Soft, dusty blue is a perfect alternative to the classic pink look. A cool, calming color that somehow looks great on everyone. Dusty blue is a popular choice for any style or location, but pairs particularly well with outdoor weddings. Whether it is a lakeside, mountain, or beach wedding, it seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape. To round out the palette, we recommend adding a splash of green, tan, beige, or cream. If you desire a bolder look, try a monochrome blue palette with dusty blue as the primary shade. Additionally, accents of gold or silver will add a more luxe feel to the decor.

BLACK & WHITE

Although this look is as timeless and classic as it gets, we have seen a significant rise in the popularity of black and white weddings. This palette is elegant and chic, often seen paired with a modern minimalist style. Even with this simple and clean color scheme, a lot of variation is achievable. Some brides prefer white to be the primary color, while others choose black; playing with the ratios can have a drastic effect on the overall look. For the bride who wants a more glamorous vibe, try adding gold, silver, or any metallic, as an accent. For a moody twist, add touches of a dark jewel tone, we suggest emerald green or rich purple.

BOLD BRIGHTS

The last trend we’re covering today is perfect for the bold, adventurous couple! A perfect pair to a groovy, 70’s inspired vibe are bright pops of pink, orange, and yellow. The key to pulling off a vibrant color scheme like this is to use the colors as an accent to a neutral base, such as white or cream. With this look, less is definitely more; using a ton of bright colors can quickly overwhelm the decor. Adding a dash of fuchsia, bright peach, and sunny yellow to the florals, invitations, or as a detail on the table settings will go a long way to make your special day stand out.
