Michelle and Jerry’s love story is nothing short of magical. With Jerry being stationed in California for the Airforce, the exact place where Michelle lived, it is no question fate brought them together and into the desert for their beautiful wedding!
The girls started the day getting ready at Mountain Shadows Resort, located in Paradise Valley, AZ. After her hair and makeup was done, Michelle put on her wedding gown and gave her mom a big hug. This was a moment she had been dreaming about ever since she was a little girl!
When they arrived at Superstition Mountains, Michelle waited in the tent, hiding from her soon-to-be husband. She waited patiently but was so eager to finally see the man she would be with forever. The first look was a beautiful and emotional experience for the couple. Jerry’s eyes immediately filled with tears the moment he saw his bride in her dress for the first time. After the tears stopped, they shared a moment with the most important thing, their dog, Sushi! Everyone apart of this moment exchanged smiles.
The ceremony was simple, yet elegant. Not taking away from the scenic background, the altar was decorated with a modest copper arch dressed in neutral florals by Array Design. During the ceremony, there was not a dry eye in the house, especially when they exchanged their written vows. Once the officiant gave him the go-ahead, Jerry kissed his bride for the first time, and they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife!
The reception was filled with lots of joy and lots of laughter! While family portraits were being taken, guests sat at the lounge area and played Jenga together while drinking specialty cocktails. The newlyweds sat at their own table decorated with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The reception table was decorated with a combination of tasteful greenery, baby’s breath, and dimly lit candles.
After Michelle and Jerry shared an intimate first dance, the rest of the guests joined them for a party on the dance floor. They danced with all their family and friends until it was time for the sendoff. The bride and groom left under an arch of sparklers and loud cheers, giving them the perfect departure before their honeymoon!
Having the opportunity to plan a wedding from the ground up like this middle-of-the-desert wedding was such an enjoyable experience. We feel so grateful to have been a part of celebrating Michelle and Jerry’s love story!
