Last step, best step! Choosing where to honeymoon is so exciting, and there’s so many different options! There are many factors into choosing the perfect place to honeymoon. Being able to get away and spend time alone with your new spouse is something you won’t take for granted! Here are some things to consider when planning your dream honeymoon.
COST
The first thing you need to consider is the length of your trip. How much time are you wanting to spend on your honeymoon? If you want a shorter honeymoon, you could opt for a more expensive location. This leads us right into the next topic: budget. Determine how much money you have for your honeymoon. Remember this is part of your wedding planning budget! Sometimes your wedding costs a little more than you anticipated, so you may need to cut areas of spending for your honeymoon. Don’t worry though, there are many places you can go for cheap! If you are not the one paying for your wedding, make sure you set a budget with the one who is. You definitely don’t want to go outside of their price range, but don’t rob yourself of a great trip if they’re going to pay!
LOCATION
Next: location. Lots of people think of a honeymoon in paradise, like Hawaii or the Bahamas. However, there’s so much room to expand your options! Going to a secluded cabin in the woods can be just as enjoyable as the beach. It’s really up to you! The real reason you are on a honeymoon is to celebrate your marriage and get to spend alone time as a married couple. Once you decide what kind of climate you want (hot or cold) you’ll want to decide if you want to be in the country or out of the country. If you want to go out of the country, you have to make sure to factor in the extra money it will take. You may need to get passports, and your plane tickets will likely be more expensive.
GET MONEY BACK
Now for the best part: how to earn money back from your honeymoon! A tip we’ve figured out is to put all of the money you spend on your wedding and honeymoon on a credit card. It will be a decent amount of money, and you’ll be able to earn points on the card to get some money back into your bank account! Talk about a win-win situation! Make sure you are cautious when doing this- it’s way easier to spend with a credit card. Keep to your budget, and make sure to write down all of the charges you put on the card for a budget reference.
While honeymooning at an all-inclusive resort or high end hotel may be nice, the important part is that you have fun. Consider the amount of relaxation vs. excursion time you are seeking. Your honeymoon won’t last forever, so make the most of it!
