It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! The older I get, the faster time goes by, but I won’t complain about the Christmas season coming faster every year! I love everything about it! The festive décor, the holiday treats, and the family traditions all contribute to making this the most wonderful time of the year!
Festive Decor
The wedding planner in me loves creating a special atmosphere by creating a space! The twinkly lights on the tree, the Christmas music playing in the background, and the smell of cookies baking in the oven cultivates an experience. I was super excited to get a new tree to put up this year (the Target 40% off sale was calling my name)! My other favorite pieces are the “Fir and Firewood” Anthropologie candles and red poinsettias for a Black Friday deal!
Holiday Treats
The holiday season isn’t complete without lots of treats! I love to start my day with some peppermint mocha creamer in coffee (with homemade whip cream too, of course)! My other favorite munchies include Chex Party Mix and sugar cookies. We always decorate the tree sipping on eggnog with Sprite and Christmas morning has to include cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. Traditions are sprinkled amongst it all.
Traditions
Other than decorating the tree, jamming to Justin Bieber’s “Meet Me Underneath the Mistletoe,” and eating lots of treats, I try to be intentional to incorporate other Christmas traditions! During the month of December, I love to do an Advent devotional each morning. This year, I’m reading She Read’s Truth Advent book. We all know there’s no place like home for the holidays, so the week of Christmas I travel to Washington to be with my family. Getting off the plane and taking in the cool pine air makes my soul come alive!
