Can you believe it’s already March?! Spring officially starts March 20th, but our team is already dreaming up many projects with spring color palettes in mind. The pretty pastels, soft neutrals, and fun pops of color that come with this season make planning that much more fun! We wanted to share with you some of our favorite color schemes and wedding trends to get you ready for this gorgeous season.
Spring calls for some of the most stunning floral arrangements of the year. Peonies make their way back to center stage and it seems like each and every wedding features a new installment with bigger and more vibrant florals. Spring is all about pops of color and texture with flowers, and we cannot wait to see what our local florists create.
Decorating statement tables is one of our favorite elements of planning weddings. The following months call for neutral basket-style chargers paired with fun statement plates and tied together with uniquely styled napkins. Some of our favorite picks for tableware are white-dipped flatware, two-toned flatware, clear goblets and colorful plates. It is important to pick where you want color/texture and not to over-do it. Another item that can add interest to the table is calligraphy menus, place cards, or a simple welcome note to guests.
Wedding guests love cake and this season has so many options for desserts. Some of our favorite trends are semi-naked cakes with flowers, watercolor cakes, marble cakes, and simplistic cakes with fresh fruit toppings! Semi-naked cakes have been a consistent trend that can be paired with so many different toppings which makes them an easy go-to for spring. Decorating with bright flowers, macarons, and/or a custom cake topper can make your cake fit in with the season perfectly. Watercolor cakes can add so much color to the overall reception decor. Marble cakes are a good option for brides that want a classy, neutral statement cake.
Your wedding day is not complete without your bridesmaids which means they also need to look fabulous! This season we are loving pastel dresses, mix/match styles within a cohesive color palette, and simple neutrals. Spring bridesmaid dress colors are typically less dramatic than other seasons which allows for more flexibility with the style and cut of the dress. Be creative and include your bridesmaids in the process!
Some other fun items and trends we are loving are colorful napkins, tassel/oversized earrings, and watercolor stationary.
