You did it! You’re married. First, and most importantly, enjoy your honeymoon and then you can pick up the pieces for all of the post-wedding details. This may be a little one, but change those usernames on all the socials to show off that new last name! Celebrate the new story you are going to write together, and we will guide you with some post-wedding must-dos.
SAY THANK YOU
Oh my goodness! So many people made this special day happen. They will continue to support you through the new stage of life you two are entering into. There are a couple of ways to say thank you. The morning after the wedding it is sweet to host a brunch for family and friends in town. This is an extra “thank you for celebrating with us” moment. Thank you cards are also very important for those who gifted you at the wedding. Writing 150 cards be intimidating upfront but you and your hubby can each conquer 5 a day. Give it 15 days and you’ve got them all out before the common courtesy of the 2-month post-honeymoon timeline! Customize your thank you cards as you please. This can be the first use for your new and lovely wedding photos. Also, take this time to say thank you to your vendors. Flood them with great reviews as you see fit!
PICTURES!
After giving your photographer 6-10 weeks roughly (each photographer will be different), find some creative ways to showcase these picture-perfect moments! Most photographers will give you about 10-20 sneak peek photos to hold you over. Do you have a favorite picture from the night? Head to our shop and turn the most memorable day of your life with your honey into a personalized illustration by Savannah G Creative! Print large photos and hang them in your new house to make it a home. You can even create a coffee table book with all of your wedding photos. You’ve even got Christmas gifts covered for parents and grandparents. When you get your wedding photos back, turn this into a sweet date night. Take this time to reminisce and see what all was going on while you were admiring that cute new hubby of yours.
PRESERVE IT
There are three major things that we encourage you to preserve after your wedding- the cake, the flowers, and the dress. Ask your caterer to save the top tier of your cake. Freeze it and enjoy this delicious treat on your 1 year anniversary. There are endless options for ways to save your florals. Many times, the bridesmaid’s bouquets and centerpieces get tossed after a wedding. Send these arrangements home with guests, drop them off at the hospital for children, and fill your new home with lovely florals. As for your bridal bouquet, press it into a frame and hang it in a room in your home. You can also create a resin dish for your bedside table or vanity. Put your everyday jewelry in here!
Most importantly, use this time to love on one another and rejoice in where you are. You’re married! All of your hard work has commenced and it is time to start living it out. Check out our Date Night downloadable for some creative date night ideas without going out or breaking the bank.
